Knowing only one OS is a very big problem in the world of technicians this is because a thousands challenges awaits those who monopolised their know-how (Can I call it RESTRICTION!) Restriction is very bad!
When I asked some technicians how many OS can you work on, the answer is always Microsoft Operation System (MS-OS) mostly, Windows XP, not Windows98, 95 and Version 3. Even though they are outdated OS but knowing them is highly important and recommended most especially when it came in terms of technical operation. How about Linux, Unix, Qubes and others distribution such as Fedora, Feather Linux, DSL etc. The answer is always big NO.
Knowing how to install and work with more than one operating systems is essentials this is because as a technicians, you must devote your time and resources to know more than expected in order to tackle the challenges in your field. Most of these OS have so many features to equip technicians with.
Technical aspect of all these stuffs, is highly tedious and time consuming and be ready to accept any challenges and correction- A technicians must be socially connected with others in same field otherwise he will not succeed.
Of course, we are not an Engineers, but our work is to put system in order. Sometimes, we have to take risk! whether successful to add more knowledge to our vault or not successful to pay thousand to our client. NO OPTION!
